Puerto Boyacá, Boyacá Department, May 26, 2026 – In a ceremony attended by the Municipal Administration of Puerto Boyacá, the National Learning Service (SENA) and Jinko Power Colombia, a donation of specialized training materials was delivered by Jinko Power to the community of Puerto Boyacá. These resources will equip the Technical Program in Maintenance and Installation of Photovoltaic Solar Systems, offered by the Agro-industrial and Services Innovation Center of SENA in the municipality, fulfilling the environmental commitments of the PV Melgar solar project.

Donated by Jinko Power, these resources and equipment will allow students and members of the community of Puerto Boyacá to access hands-on training with professional equipment and didactic modules specifically designed for PV technology. This program aims to aid in the development of local technical skills, promote employment in the renewable energy sector, and strengthen the department’s capacity to participate in the country’s energy transition. The initiative will also enable the company to fulfill their part of the socio-environmental obligations acquired by the PV Melgar solar project. Through the training program, Jinko Power Colombia contributes directly to local capacity-building and the sustainable development of the area of influence of the project.

The Technical Program in Maintenance and Installation of Photovoltaic Solar Systems will combine theoretical instruction with practical workshops hosted to enable the local workforce to learn and improve their craft in both dynamic and engaging fashion. It is expected to benefit dozens of community members each year, generating a skilled local workforce that can support both the PV Melgar solar project and the broader growth of solar energy in Colombia.

The Melgar Solar PV Project is a 180 MW utility-scale facility developed by Jinko Power in Colombia's BoyacáDepartment to support the national grid with reliable, clean energy. The project includes dedicated transmission infrastructure designed to meet firm energy obligations during critical dry seasons.
